“God’s work. Our hands.” Sunday, the ELCA’s annual day of service will be September 11, 2016. Christ the King participated in 2013 and 2014 by undertaking service projects in a local park. In 2015, the congregation collected school supplies to be assembled into kits for Lutheran World Relief.
As part of CtK is collecting Personal Care items through September 11th, 2016. The kits will be distributed worldwide by Lutheran World Relief. Here is what we still need for the kits:
- lightweight bath-size towels (20″ x 40″ to 52″ x 27″), dark color recommended
Our goal is to collect supplies for at least 60 Personal Care Kits. As of August 29th, we still need four towels. Cash donations will also be appreciated to complete the collection and defray shipping costs. Thanks to your generosity, we have enough soap and combs!
We are also collecting change throughout the summer to fight hunger to be given to ELCA Lutheran World Relief on September 11th. You may place your filled collection bank or other donation in the large basket outside the sanctuary.
