On Saturday, August 8th, 2015, Christ the King hosted its 2015 Shine the Light Event from 12 noon until 8 pm. The event was free and open to the public and included games, activities for children, and Christian music on the front lawn of the church. Pastor Matthew Groenke led our 5:30 pm Saturday worship with communion under the tent in front of the building. Hot dogs, sloppy Joes, chips, water, and coffee were available throughout the day for a free will offering.
Some people who had come to Twinsburg for the Twins Days festival across the street stopped by CtK for snacks, to worship, and to enjoy the fabulous variety of Christian music. The performance schedule for the afternoon was:
12:00 – 1:00 pm – Russ Nottingham, Christian Country (pictures #13 & #14, below)
1:30 – 2:30 pm – Amanda Joy Hall, Christian Contemporary (#21)
3:00 – 4:00 pm – Starlight Secret, Christian Alternative Rock (#24)
4:30 – 5:30 pm – Calvary’s Path, Bluegrass Gospel (#32 & #33)
5:30 – 6:30 pm – Worship with Communion, Pastor Matthew Groenke presiding (#40 – #48)
6:30 – 7:30 pm – On That Day, Christian Rock (#51)
7:30 – 8:30 pm – Youth activities until Twins Days fireworks
Many thanks to P.O.S.S.Y. (Parents of Sunday School Youth – #5) for planning, scheduling the bands, providing food, and implementing this wonderful opportunity for Christ the King to “shine the light of Jesus, reflect his unconditional love, and mirror his kindness to all people!”
