The feast day for St. Francis of Assisi, who was noted for caring for all of God’s creatures, is October 4th. On a Sunday afternoon in October Christ the King holds a brief Blessing of the Pets service in the parking lot. The service includes prayers, scripture readings, and a blessing of each pet in attendance.
The public is invited to bring their confined pets of any species to receive a blessing by the pastor.
